
What is a student union?
There is a student union at every university in Finland. The main purpose of a student union is to advocate students’ interests. At Åbo Akademi University (ÅAU), this task belongs to the Student Union of ÅAU (in short ÅAS). The student unions’ position is stipulated in the Universities Act, and in order to be a powerful organisation that the university listens to, the law also states that all students are automatically members of their student union.

Service Points' opening hours
The Service Point in Åbo will close at 2 p.m. on 30 April. The Service Point in Åbo will be closed on 6–7 May, and the one in Vasa will be closed on 7 May.
Åbo:
Kåren: Monday and Thursday from noon to 3 p.m.
Astra: Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m.
Vasa:
Havtornen: Monday from noon to 3 p.m.
Academill: Thursday from noon to 3 p.m.
