Now it’s time to dig out the decorative streamers and blow up the balloons because MAY DAY IS HERE!
We, from the Student Union of Åbo Akademi University (ÅAS), along with the Student Union of University of Vaasa (VYY), and the Student Union of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (Vamok), invite all students to join us in carrying out the traditional Topelius’ Statue graduation hat ceremony.
The event will begin at 6.00 p.m. with speeches by students from Vasa, followed by the hat ceremony where we will all put on our graduation caps simultaneously with Topelius. After the ceremony, the student choir Pedavoces will perform at the stairs of Vasa Övningsskola (at the upper secondary school).
Bring your friends, good vibes, and your graduation cap if you have one, and celebrate May Day’s Eve with us as a part of this wonderful May Day tradition.
