Shrove Tuesday 2026 organized 17 February at Vårdberget

The student Union of Åbo Akademy University (ÅAS) together with TYY and Novium are organizing Shrove Tuesday (Fastlaskiainen) 2026 on Vårdberget Åbo 17.2. The event starts 14.00 but we urge you to be there by 13.30. The event will end at 16.00.

Shrove Tuesday is a traditional event where the student associations at ÅAU compete with building sleds, which they then ride down the Vårdberg hill. Afterwards the public can vote for the winner. Shrove Tuesday is a appreciated event, so come to Vårdberget and cheer for your favorite sled!

After-Sled at Kåren

After the sledding competition there will be a After-Sled party that takes place at Kåren. The Fastlaskiainen overall’s patches will be handed out at the After-Sled party.
