The Student Union of Åbo Akademi University is honoured to invite you all to its 107th Annual Ball on Saturday, 21 January 2026. The solenn akt (handing honourary awards and cocktail) and banquet dinner will be held at Kåren (Tavastgatan 22) in Åbo. On the following day,

on Sunday 22 February, the traditional Herring breakfast (brunch and snacks in overalls/ comfortable clothes) is arranged at Kåren.

Schedule

Saturday, 21 January 2026 at Kåren

  • 3.45 p.m. Solenn akt (handing honorary awards)
  • 5.30 Cocktail
  • 6.00 p.m. Banquet dinner

Sunday, 22 January 2026 at Kåren

  • 12.00 a.m. “Herring breakfast” (brunch and snacks in overalls/ comfortable clothes)
  • 12.30 Student associations present their greetings

Price

  • The price for Student Union (ÅAS) members is 110€.
  • The price for non-members is 140€.
  • The price for the herring breakfast is 10€.

  • White tie and academic badges

Registration

The registration for the Annual Ball is open, and closes on Sunday 8 February at 11.59 p.m. Sunday, 8 February is also the last day to cancel your registration for the event.

Accessibility

The Annual Ball is held on the second floor of the Kåren building. There is an elevator to the entrance and to the second floor. The elevator door is 90 cm wide and does not open automatically. The front doors open automatically through the button on the left side of the door. An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor. There are no thresholds on the second floor.
